4th Class Coding: Video Game Design

27th Jun 2025

On their final full day of school, Mr. Wilson’s 4th Class took a thrilling journey into the world of coding — with a Star Wars twist! Using the fantastic resources on Code.org, the girls dove into the basics of block coding while exploring how coding plays a huge role in something they love: video games.

Throughout the day, the class learned how coding isn’t just about computers — it also strengthens problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and creativity. These are skills that support academic success across all subjects.

Guided by the epic theme of Star Wars, the girls worked their way through a series of interactive lessons that introduced foundational coding concepts in a fun and engaging way. As their skills grew, so did their confidence, and soon they were designing their very own video games!

From programming characters and enemies to creating unique backgrounds and setting controls, the girls had full creative freedom. They even coded the rules and winning conditions of their games — bringing their ideas to life with logic, imagination, and a whole lot of fun.

It was a day full of discovery, collaboration, and excitement — the perfect way to end the year on a high note. Well done, coders of the galaxy!
