Catching Stars in Junior Infants ✨
Ms Fahy's junior infants enjoyed reading the story How to Catch a Star by Oliver Jeffers. The girls came up with some incredible ideas of how they might catch a star! Some suggested climbing up a giraffe's neck, using a magic wand, making their own wings, or travelling to space in a spaceship. These were just some of the imaginative ideas shared during our discussion.
The girls then created their own star-catching pictures. They painted dark watercolour backgrounds, recognising that stars appear in the night sky. They carefully cut out and stuck a star onto their artwork before drawing themselves catching it. The girls were very proud of their imaginative creations and enjoyed sharing their work with one another.
