This week, the girls in Mr Wilson’s 5th class began their journey into the world of coding. We learned how to use “block coding” to input commands into a computer, and have it translate the commands into a physical process.
We used a great resource in our computer room to create our own video games using block coding. We were able to create movement controls, point scoring systems, and even enemies to avoid! It was so much fun!
We learned about and discussed the importance of coding and digital literacy in our world today, and the possibilities it may have for the future. We learned and experimented with binary code generators and saw the journey a line of code takes as it goes through a microprocessor.
