Face to face with clay in Mr Wilson's 4th Class!

9th Jan 2026

This week, our classroom turned into a very unusual art studio as we worked with clay to create replicas of our own faces.

Armed with plenty of clay, and a lot of concentration, the children carefully studied their own features.

As the clay took shape, so did the laughter. Some faces looked surprised, some looked thoughtful, and a few looked like they had just been told it was homework time!

This activity was not only great fun but also helped develop observation skills, fine motor control, and an appreciation for how unique we all are. Each sculpture captured the personality of its creator perfectly — even if the hairstyle didn’t always go according to plan!

We’re incredibly proud of the effort and creativity shown by everyone. Keep an eye out for our gallery…  you may recognise some familiar faces!
