Folk Songs in 4th Class

4th Class had a busy day on Wednesday, as Mr Wilson brought his bouzouki to school! 

We began the year by learning about the tradition of Folk music, and the stories that are intertwined by songs. We looked at famous Cork musicians, beginning with Jimmy Crowley. We looked at his song "The Coal Quay Market" which tells the story about the "Shawlie"s that operated markets in the coal quay!
