Maths in Action!!
This week we celebrated Maths Week in junior infants! Ms Fahy's class went on a shape hunt around the school, spotting different 2D and 3D shapes. We found 3D shapes everywhere — from compost bins and pumpkins to even a fire extinguisher! 🔺🎃🧯
The girls didn’t just find shapes — they created their own! Inspired by what they discovered, they made fantastic 3D pumpkins, learning all about the shapes we can build and see around us 🎃
We also had a fantastic time building our own Shape City, using boxes and recycled materials to design towers, cafés, and houses from cubes, cones, and cylinders! 🏙️
Throughout the week, the children enjoyed working in our numeracy stations, where they practiced counting and early number skills through fun, hands-on activities.
