Ms Buckley’s Senior Infants have been doing lots of active maths and the girls have been very busy learning all about the number 8. They explored the story of 8 using a wide range of materials, helping them to build, count and represent the number 8 in fun, hands-on ways. The girls have also been developing their spatial awareness, learning to recognise left and right through interactive games, such as placing a pencil on the left or the right of a chair while a friend identified its position. To further support this learning, the girls created models of their bedrooms using different materials, encouraging creativity while reinforcing their understanding of space, position and shape.
