Save The Bees 🐝 🌍
Senior Infants have been learning all about bees! The girls have been loving learning lots of facts about bees and the beekeepers who look after them. They even got to see a real hive with yummy honey inside! They were super interested in the smoker that helps keep the bees calm and they even tried on the beekeepers' suits.
They got a close-up look at a bee's wing and antenna under a microscope. Then they wrote down everything they learned about bees. They made a beehive using bubble wrap and created the earth using cotton buds and paint. The girls went out to explore the garden and watch the bees collect nectar and pollen from the flowers. 🌺 🌼
They entered the Green Schools World Bee Day competition and made some amazing posters. Well done to Robin who won in our class.
To top of all off they got to taste honey on some bread and it was delicious! 🍯 🐝
