Shark Attack in Junior Infants
Ms Fahy's junior infants were busy creating shark art using a variety of techniques. First, we used white paint on blue card to create waves and movement in the water. We then painted the bottom of the ocean a darker shade of blue to represent the deeper water.
Next, we learned about colour mixing and discovered that mixing black and white paint makes grey. We used this new colour to paint our sharks. We looked closely at the shape of shark teeth and noticed that they are triangles, so we cut out triangular shapes from paper and added them to our sharks.
To complete our artwork, we splattered white paint over the pictures to create the effect of splashing water. This lesson helped us develop our painting, cutting, and colour-mixing skills while creating striking shark artwork.
